Records show that junior Allison Marquis is only one change of major away from receiving a free sundae from Chartwells Food Services. Having changed majors seven times in the past five semesters, Marquis has been a student of four different schools within Quinnipiac’s undergraduate programs, giving her an advantage in perspective towards her career development and hopeful graduation.
“It’s easy when you start out a new major,” Marquis commented. “Taking all of the 101’s was fun but it didn’t feel like the information came naturally to me after we moved beyond generalizations and commonsense definitions.”
In addition to her experience in multiple majors, Marquis has had over twelve academic advisors weigh in on her profile, giving her critical advice for her future goals.
“Marquis has the most enthusiasm I’ve ever seen in a student,” stated Dr. Crystal Brian, a theater professor. “She is determined not to declare undecided, and I’ve personally witnessed her work just as hard as everyone else in ‘Intro to Acting.’”
“If there are six things I’m sure of, it’s that I’m not made out to be an actor, historian, economist, microbiologist, therapist, or business owner,” quoted Marquis. “If it took Edison 2,000 tries to make a light bulb, then I’ll take 2,000 majors to find my passion.”
At press time, it was confirmed that Marquis is indecisive over the choice of a Banana Supreme Sundae or a Chocolate Swirl Surprise.
