ROOMMATES STORY OF SATURDAY NIGHT SOUNDS AN AWFUL LOT LIKE ‘BABE 2: PIG IN THE CITY’

Andrew Hutner

Upon recounting stories of what you and your roommates did this past Saturday night, you’ve realized one of your roommate’s stories is beginning to sound a lot like the plot to the 1998 film Babe 2: Pig in the City.

“Yeah I had a crazy night,” said the lying, children’s movie-watching, friend, “me and my buddy Ferd were being chased by these dogs in New Haven, and I fell into this stream, and the dog did too, but I saved his life and now he’s indebted to me.”

Your other roommates seemed equally concerned about the lies as well. “It seems weird that he would lie about what he did and use a movie plot to do it,” said your other equally confused roommate, “and what’s even weirder is that he used a film centered around a pig and a duck.”

When pressed further for questions, your friend just seemed to delve deeper into the heartwarming sequel’s plot, stating “I was only in the city for what I thought was a sheepherding contest, and then me and my friends just found ourselves in some wild antics!”

Despite the fact that Babe 2: Pig in the City was a film that you and all your roommates definitely enjoyed, you’ve agreed not to bring up these concerns relating to the movie with your disillusioned friend. These days, merely discussing anything Babe in detail immediately brings tears to his eyes as he realizes what kind of a person he has become and what kind of a person he wants to be, eyes always drifting toward the sky.
