EPCOT TO TAKE IN SYRIAN REFUGEES

In fear of more terrorist attacks, Republican governors across the country are shutting down state borders and prohibiting Syrian refugees from entering. In response to the problem, newly declared republic Walt Disney World has begun admitting refugees into their utopian city, the land of Epcot.

Imagineer Jim Hurst is very happy with the decision of accepting these refugees and sees it as an opportunity to expand the World Showcase to include more third-world nations.

“Walt wanted people to see and appreciate many different cultures around the world. The addition of a war-torn pavilion would be enhancing his dream, and the refugees could even be employed to teach tourists how to handle bombings and violence, just like our cast members from England teach tourists all about British culture while working at a fish and chips stand," Hurst said.

Park officials are meeting the over-crowding problem with the addition of a residential area. Imagineers are diving right into this conversion, and aim to keep each country’s pavilion authentic to that nation while also creating new homes. For example, the Africa pavilion has been outfitted with seven-foot high mud huts and Mexico has made shelter out of their Mayan temple replica.

“I just can’t believe that people are actually going into Mexican borders to start a new life. It’s very refreshing.” said cast member Tia Martinez.

The Norway pavilion has yet to be renovated, for the building of the new Frozen ride cannot be disrupted.

“I want my daughter to understand the real and serious threats that the world presents us with each and every day, so I think seeing the Syrian refugees is fine,” said parent Janet Winokour. “I just don’t think it’s more important than Frozen.”

The American pavilion, the land of the free, has turned away refugees from its large, elaborate, roofed amphitheater, thereby maintaining an accurate portrayal of modern American culture. To make up for the lost space in America, refugees have taken over the ride “Spaceship Earth.” It is ridden continuously and with great response, for at the end of the ride it allows one to build their utopian city of the future.
