Public Safety Gave Me a Parking Ticket EVEN THOUGH I WAS PARKED IN THE RIGHT LOT

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The law simply does not work.

Last Friday, second year Applied Business Major Adam Silver received a parking ticket after parking in the Hilltop Lot behind Village.

While yes, sophomores aren’t allowed to park in that lot normally, there is a little loophole that he has been exploiting for the past month or so. Since all cars are allowed to park in that lot during the weekend, he has been parking his car in Westwoods during the week, only moving it to Hilltop after 5 on Fridays, in which all cars are allowed to park in that parking lot.

Unfortunately, Mr. Silver wasn’t exactly as lucky this time due to the fact that he parked in the lot at 4:55 on Friday. And while the security guard at the front waved him in, saying it was ok, the second he exited his car, a public safety officer came over and gave him a ticket EVEN THOUGH IT WAS LITERALLY LIKE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE START TIME. Upon seeing this ticket, Silver became enraged and wrote an article criticizing the lack of reasonable leeway he was given.

“It was literally like 5 minutes,” says Silver. “What was I supposed to do? Drive around the parking lot for 5 minutes, wasting gas, just so I could fulfill some asinine rule? Why can’t sophomores even park on main to begin with? A majority of them live there anyway. God this is ridiculous.”

When asked for further comment, Silver- Wait why am I even writing in third person? I’m like genuinely pissed about this. I mean come on. I have to pay all that money for a parking ticket just because I parked a little early? This is complete and utter bullshit. I SWEAR TO GOD IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN I’M GONNA-

The Quinnipiac Barnacle is displeased to announce that Adam Silver has been rushed to the hospital after breaking his hand after shoving his fist through his computer. We wish him a fast and speedy recovery for the time being.
