In my years as a young Jewish boy in Brooklyn, I was reminded constantly around the holiday season about the man that is Santa Claus. I often wondered why he would visit my friends and adorn their homes with gifts galore while leaving my house barren. I spent many sleepless Hanukkah nights waiting for Saint Nick to lay presents under my menorah and nibble on the Dreidel shaped cookies I had baked for him, but in the morning they were always still there.
After many years I finally discovered the truth: Santa Claus is anti-semitic! Yes! I was shocked at first, too. However, the deeper I looked the clearer the evidence was. Not only does Santa have a relentless hatred for Jewish people, but for many other religions as well. In fact, the only people he seems to actually care about are Christians.
We shouldn’t have to tolerate any more bigotry from Chris Cringle. Every home should have the right to be broken into by a portly old gentleman with a large sack late at night, no matter what religion they believe in.
We live in a world where people are not only more tolerant, but also better informed about other religions and what makes each of them special. Isn’t it about time for Santa to join this world to0?
