With controversy surrounding transgender rights in America and the Society, Life, and Justice Club’s recent open discussion with students about the transgender community, Quinnipiac’s Young Republican Club has responded by holding their own, closed-door discussion, leaving the rest of the community to wonder in horror about what was said.
The meeting, which took place after the recent Connecticut Trump rally/demolition derby, began with Jack Simpson, president of the club, demanding a ban on all electronic devices, ensuring details of meeting would not leak out to the general public.
Despite there being no record of what was said at the meeting, students and teachers alike are abuzz with speculation. “With Ted Cruz and Donald Trump as role models, there is no telling what horrible rhetoric was said in that room,” said Dana Palance, adjunct professor of sociology. “They probably called Caitlyn Jenner by her old name. Yeah, I bet they did that.”
“I bet they liked that whole bathroom thing,” said junior Morgan Bates. “Oh, if they said they liked it, that would make me so mad!”
For his part, Simpson has chosen to stay quiet. “You guys probably want to know what we said so badly, but I’ll never tell – none of us will tell!” said Simpson, while slowly stroking a white cat. “You’ll all die never knowing the talking points from Fox News that we regurgitated for two hours!”
Sources close to the Quinnipiac transgender community said they were “pretty bummed, but also curious.”
