The residence hall committee has agreed to send emails to sophomores, juniors, and seniors living on campus regarding next summer’s plans in their effort to compile a move-in crew to move in the students who are a part of the move-in crew.
“We’ve got a move-in crew for the freshman,” explained Jennifer Crane, Director of Residential Life. “We just need someone to move in the students who are volunteering to come to school early to move-in the freshman,” Crane continued.
Students of all ages can attest to the fact that the first day of classes is a stressful time for students who live in on-campus housing. Therefore, a team of experts has developed a plan to eliminate the hassle of move-in day through the implementation of a group of volunteers who can take the weight off students’ shoulders.
“Hey, if this perk continues to please students and their parents, we could one day reach a freshman class size that would give the distance to the College of Arts and Sciences from the rest of the campus acceptable—students need privacy in their living spaces,” suggested one of the university’s residence hall directors, Kelly Marbury.
Marbury has hinted at the formation of a smaller, more detail-oriented crew to take over the stressful process of moving into a new office for those faculty members who are changing offices, starting their first year on the job, or who are getting acclimated to having one to three students share a workspace with them.
