QU Tour Guide Sidesteps Diversity

A Quinnipiac University tour guide said he was left “speechless and flabbergasted” Tuesday while leading Future Bobcats and their parents on a tour through the Quad.

“This was my worst-case scenario,” said Tour Guide Brad, a senior fraternity major.

According to inside sources, someone’s mom asked if Quinnipiac is “diverse” and a “welcoming environment to all.”

“Uhhhh,” said Tour Guide Brad. “Well, we live by the Bobcat Creed, so there’s that.”

The school creed encourages students to “embrace the inclusion of all people,” but notably does not allude to Quinnipiac’s status as a primarily white institution.

Tour Guide Brad quickly shifted the conversation to the Quinnipiac men’s hockey team’s 5-1 win over Yale University earlier this month.

The tour, which was three hours long, continued to the Arnold Bernhard Library, where Tour Guide Brad spoke loudly through his Quinnipiac admissions-issued headset microphone as students tried to study.

The Office of Admissions declined comment, but immediately fired Tour Guide Brad.

“I don’t know what I’m gonna do,” Brad said. “School spirit is my whole personality.”
